The play is a two-hander concerning Michael - in his early 20s and in middle age - and his battle with, and attempts to explain, depression. At both ages, he recalls the pivotal moments and people that have influenced his life. Both actors play the entire cast of characters: from Jennifer, the outrageous girlfriend who becomes the soulless wife, to Danny, his soulmate and first love. Despite the seriousness of the subject, it is also a celebration of life, and we are taken on a journey with Michael as he fights the disease he refers to as 'The Shadow'...

David Kerby-Kendall is a writer and an actor. He has been lucky enough to have had 18 plays staged, including adaptations of seven David Walliam's children's novels for Heartbreak Productions for whom he is the in-house writer. He has also written the tour scripts for Andrew Lloyd-Webber's theatres, and has had two novels published. As an actor he has worked for the likes of Jack Shepherd, and also played Judge Angel in The Crown.
