Film examiners at the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) examine in pairs, deciding whether a work warrants U, PG, 15, 18 or 'er R18. They need to agree, within prescribed guidelines.
What if they don't? What if one is peer reviewing the other? What if they are falling in love? Viewing hard core porn presents its own challenge...
A serious comedy from Jan Woolf.
This is Jan Woolf's fourth play, an update of the version first performed at the Hackney Empire in 2008. Jan was herself a film examiner at the BBFC in 2000. She resigned after 6 months, taking many insights with her.
The prevalence of pornography is relevant for the current national conversation around the Netflix show Adolescence. Jan was also a special needs teacher in a children's home.
