Time to start working on your entry into our autumn short play competition
For this latest contest, the theme is MAKE US LAUGH
The chosen entries will be performed via Zoom on Monday 17th November, with the winners chosen by our members.
A reminder of the rules:
Entries from fully paid up PP members only.
Scripts should be limited to between 1000-1500 words (wordcount marked on script) including spoken stage directions only. Monologues will not be accepted.
Entries should be submitted in Word format rather than pdf.
Scripts to include two to four characters (of either sex) with a list of their names. The author's name must not appear. Authors may suggest casting, depending on actors' availability, but the final choice will be at the discretion of casting secretary, Lynne O'Sullivan.
Authors may have ONE read through with their cast, and give brief notes. Authors are responsible for arranging this themselves via their own Zoom facility.
The cast are asked not to reveal the names of authors so that as far as possible these are not known until the results are announced.
Only the first ten entries sent to pplaywrights@gmail.com will be accepted for the competition, but we may be able to arrange readings of surplus scripts on another occasion.
The script submitted will be the final one. No amendment of scripts will be permitted.
Following the competition, scores must be emailed to Lynne O'Sullivan at pplaywrights@gmail.com by Thursday 20th November.
Results to be announced Friday 21st November.
Authors are not permitted to vote for their own entry. (As organiser, Lynne does not score any play).
Get scribbling those chuckles! 😂😂
