Player Playwright is taking its Summer holiday. We return Monday, 11th September with an exclusive talk by Debbie Simmons, licensing manager, Samuel French with advice on how to get your plays published.

Congratulations to Gemma Mills McGrath whose play Danny Boy won the Player Playwright Open Competition on Monday night.

Mr Benson Did A Dab by Joanne Bhouri was runner up on the night. The two other finalists were Bognor by Richard Fitchett and Like Us by Michael Barry.

All four playwrights received cash prizes. Steve Harper, literary manager of the 503 Theatre, provided his insights on the plays.

The award for best actor went to Jim Mannering (Danny Boy) and best actress was Lucy Farar (Mr Benson Did A Dab).
