Monday 11 January, 7.30pm: Scorched Earth by Helena Thompson

Player Playwrights returns 7.30pm, Monday 11 January, 2021, with Scorched Earth, a new Dystopian drama from the pen of Helena Thompson

This ambitious new play was commissioned as a Covid-19 proof script for a cast of 15 by the University of Chichester, who want it to address social justice and work across radio and stage.

Helena Thompson is a scriptwriter who is published by Bloomsbury. Commissions include Radio 4, The Bush and the National Theatre attachment scheme. She is the artistic director of SPID Theatre, who champion high quality community theatre for council estates.

The work will be available to all Members on Zoom from 7.30pm on Monday.

It commences a new season of work which includes an evening of new monologues written by our Members, and we will soon post details of our upcoming new competition.
